Jennifer Lee (l.) is the first woman to direct an animated feature film for the Walt Disney studio, which has been in the business since 1937. Lee wrote the screenplay for “Frozen,” the latest Disney animated film and also served as its co-director with Chris Buck.

Running at many theaters before “Frozen” is an animated 3D short film, “Get a Horse,” directed by Lauren MacMullan. She is the first woman to take a solo Disney directing credit on an animated film according to Yahoo.

MacMullan says she was an unknowing pioneer. “Am I really the first woman to do something here by myself? We had to go check because it didn’t really occur to us,” she told Yahoo.
