Meet Kate Bedingfield. She will be joining the White House staff as Communications Director. For the first time in U.S. history, the team tasked with speaking on behalf of the administration is entirely made up of women.

Kate served as deputy campaign manager for the Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign and former communications director of Biden when he was vice president. Her work on the campaign led to Fortune naming her one of the most influential people in government and politics under 40.

“Communication is everything,” Kate says. “All of this separation is a reminder that even the smallest piece of information shared can help someone on your team do their job better, which in turn helps you do your job better.”
